The
Bellingham Mindfulness Community
Values, Mission, and Vision
v
We are guided in our practice and our conduct by the
five and fourteen Mindfulness Trainings, designed to help alleviate suffering
in ourselves and in our communities.
v
We support the teachings and tradition of Thich Nhat
Hanh and our guiding teacher, Eileen Kiera, and we benefit from the Dharma
teachings of other teachers in the community.
v
We practice for the benefit of all beings.
v
We aspire to integrate mindfulness practice into our
everyday lives.
v
We believe a mindfulness practice to be kind,
forgiving, personal, reciprocal, and nurturing.
v
We experience interdependence and inter-being among all
things.
v
We have a strong connection to the natural world,
especially as manifested during outdoor walking meditation practice.
v
We believe in cultivating joy through music,
creativity, deep connection, and spiritual friendships.
v
We take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the
Sangha.
v We support the deepening of Sangha for ourselves and others.
The Bellingham Mindfulness Community provides a dedicated sangha for supportive, joyful and deep practice of Mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. We serve Bellingham and surrounding areas in the Pacific Northwest, and we aspire to help alleviate suffering for ourselves and all beings.
The Bellingham Mindfulness Community aspires to find a true home for Mindfulness Practice in Bellingham and surrounding areas. This home will provide a quiet, accessible, peaceful sanctuary conducive to sitting and walking meditation, Dharma talks, Dharma discussions, Days of Mindfulness, and retreats. In this way, the practice of the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha will continue to grow and flourish in our community.
